Iwiecino is a village belonging to the Sianów Commune, it is situated 15 km from Koszalin and 10 km from Sianów, on the national road Koszalin – Darlowo.
In Iwiecino the starry sky encourages to observe distant universe ends, in the daytime the sundial measures the time going by. Newcomers, who are curious can meditate on expiry, astronomical observations, sense the charming atmosphere of Pomeranian Baroque. The idea of building the sundial was one of the factors of the village creation. The main village topic is the end of the world. The going by time is strongly bound to the topic. The sundial is not only symbolic but it also containes some teaching essence. The sundial is of the horizontal type.

The gnome (clock hand) made of metal is placed exactly on the meridian line. Its top turns to the area of the Pole Star, where the celestial zone makes the apparent movement – the gnome edge is placed at an angle of 62 degrees to the earth surface. Its sides are ornamented by signs of the zodiak, the sun and the Little Dipper constellation. There are metal lines around it finished with Roman numerals showing the time. The sundial shows the local solartime. This is the most precise time. It is different from the standard time because it does not take into account the summer and winter time shifting. It only measures the time for Iwêcino. The sun beams gradient is different in S³upsk, Szczecin or Paris so the solartime in these cities is also different – the standard time is the same everywhere. In the future there are sundials of different kind going to be built, so that the 'End of the World Village' could measure the end of the world better – if it ever comes. The paintings covering the church ceiling in Iwêcino also refer to the world end theme because they show the Last Judgement. The ceiling polychromy fills with admiration and was done in the year 1697 on pastor Malichius' commission.
